I’m pretty sure not many people know this but it will be the Leigh Folk Festival’s 25TH YEAR this year!! I’m also quite sure that not many people know that each year it is run and put together by a team of volunteers. People, including myself, with day jobs, who spend a large part of the year in meetings with the rest of the L.F.F committee arranging and organising the next years festival. People who have been involved since the beginning, or people like me for the past 10 years, or people who are quite new to the team but have enthusiasm and skill in heaps. Each year we rely upon the kindness of public donations, any available local funding, any sponsorship from major companies available, fundraising events and more, but it’s not easy. Like other local festivals we’re not paid to put this fantastic event together, we do it for the passion and love of the legacy of the Leigh Folk Festival. It is a huge part of our lives and we put everything into this weekend so the audience and the artists can enjoy it as much as we do! We love being involved.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP
If you love the Leigh Folk Festival and you want to make sure it continues to happen then please, please donate towards our Crowdfunder scheme. We have six amazing reward offers for those who choose to donate, depending on the amount you want to spend. You will be donating towards keeping the festival FREE and ensuring its future is safe. You will be thanked and remembered enormously. Imagine the feeling you’ll have this year knowing that YOU played a part in keeping this brilliant event together. We need to raise £5,000 to really make a difference.
Here’s what you need to do and where you need to go:
Thank-you so much for your help and kindness, the festival committee are beyond grateful to you. Sundown Arts has been a part of the festival for the past 10 years and counting, we want to remain a part of the festival and to help this special event remain a part of our local history and culture. 25 years man!! What an achievement! And still FREE! But only with your help. Please share this information with friends and family and anyone you think would love to help.
