Yes, we are lucky enough to have been asked back to take part in the Essex Book Festival. This year the festival is being opened by the brilliant artist; Grayson Perry. There are lots of fantastic events involved so do check out their website here:
Our event will be another of our popular ‘Open mic poetry & spoken word’ evenings where we invite people to come and share their writing with us. Be it poetry, prose, monologue, an excerpt from your novel, satire, anything at all. If you’d like to perform then we ask you to plan something that is 5-8 minutes in length, as we like to try and fit everybody in on the night! Simply contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place to read. If you turn up on the night to read then we can’t guarantee a slot for you I’m afraid, so it’s best to book.
It’s just £3 entry and this goes towards the sustainability as Sundown Arts as a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. We’re always so grateful to you for your support to help keep us going as we have such a passion for what we do. The event will take place at THE RAILWAY HOTEL PUB, CLIFFTOWN ROAD, SOUTHEND, SS1 1AJ from 7:30-10:30pm on FRI MARCH 4TH. No tickets required, just pay on the door! For more info, go to the Essex Book Festival website where our event is also listed.
We always look forward to hearing your work! There will be poetry and spoken word from your hosts and Sundown Poets: JO OVERFIELD and RAY MORGAN, as well as favourites like SIMON BLACKMAN. Thanks so mu
ch, see you there!
